NORTH COUNTRY ATV
Trying Our Best To Make Trail Riding
SAFE - LEGAL - FUN
| Formed April 1998 |
Mission Statement from our By-Laws
Until we formed North Country ATV, ATV riding in Northern New Hampshire was only legal if you had written landowners' permission on your person. That means that most riders were riding illegally. We are correcting this problem by getting landowners' permission and working with the New Hampshire Trails Bureau to establish a trail system.
The North Country ATV has over 120 miles of trails. All trails are on private land with over 100 individual landowners. The North Country ATV has worked very hard in corporation with the landowners to make this happen. We are asking all trail riders to not take the trails for granted but to respect them as if we were crossing your own front lawn.
With the generous support of our private landowners the North Country ATV trail administer, trail masters, trail patrol and countless volunteers has been able to put together the longest lineal trail system in the state of New Hampshire.
Most of our trails are loops that contain logging roads, old railroad beds but mostly trails through the woods. We have two restaurants, two gas stations/mini-marts,snack bar, a bed and breakfast and a trail side lodge.
We encourage our riders to take their time and enjoy what our landowners have allowed us to share. As one travels through the woods or along the roads, the sights and sounds are breathtaking and every trip is different.
As time is moving so fast, take the time, with your family, on your ATV and enjoy Mother Nature. Watch the moose at Stratford Bog, the spectacular view from Haynes Lookout and Morse Mt. overlooking Groveton, where we have put picnic table's for your enjoyment, or just meet other riders.
In order to keep our trails we need everyone's help because it takes only one rider to spoil it for all of us.
Remember: Only you can prevent trail closing and promote atving as a respectable sport.
